Pi3B Retropie 4.1 DS3 Bluetooth connection issues

Hello all,
Just got my Pi3 a few days ago and have zero programming experience.
I have it up and working and full of ROMs. I'm have a few issues.
1: PS3 DS3 not pairing to BT. I tried to update, it won't install from source.
I updated all OS and tried to do the PS3 Update again, still won't install.
The controller works when plugged in. I'm having issues with the analog joy sticks as well, but that may be due to the games I have tried it on.
Also I have no Sound coming through HDMI. In the setup I swithced to HDMI output and checked the levels, no sound. I have yet to check the 3.5mm jack though. I have seen a few threads with this same issue, but I'm not sure how to get into the OS to change code, also I have a fear of this as well as I'm not sure what I'm doing. I can however follow directions.
Any help would be awesome

So Iv'e been working on it and got the drivers to install from source and the BT paired. The controler worked via BT in the retropie setup, as soon as i exited it crashed the system. I rebooted and paired again , rumble scan pair, CRASH...
