    Boot, splash screen, more boot text?

      HI everyone.
      I'm running the latest version of retropie on a Raspberry pi 3/Model b built from the stock retropie image from the site.
      So, just mostly wondering if this is normal. I'm getting my normal raspberry boot text, then the splash screen, then it's dropping me back to the black screen listing running processes, then onto the emulation station screen. I feel like it used to be a smooth transition between the retropie splash screen (stock) and emulation station, but I might be imagining it. Am I wrong?
      If so, any thoughts on what's going on?
