Better run command support for emulator configuration
-
Something like lakka that is easy to use and always works. Really a menu option in retroarch would be great.
-
@GinJa I mean ES not retroarch.
-
You simply create a .sh file in
~/RetroPie/roms/ports
consisting of the command you want executed. Is that what you're suggesting to improve? -
@GinJa The reason it is implemented the way it is is that it is frontend agnostic which means we have chosen not to hardcode any retropie configurations into emulationstation as emulationstation has no real upstream development and is pretty much a dead project short of the few developments from a few users here on the forum.
This way we can use it (and already do) for other frontends like attract mode, mehstation or any other alternative frontends that may come out
If you're looking for that kind of integration with emulationstation you may be happier with recalbox
-
@herb_fargus the issue is that sometime the runcommand does not bring up the configuration menu. It would be great if it could be launched for the selected game in emulation station from an option in the select menu.
