      Not sure why you're using an old image instead of a recent one (4.5 should have been available 6 months ago), but you don't need to configure the 2nd player if you already have configured P1 - their configuration should be identical if you're using just 1 encoder. If you configured P1 through EmulationStation, the auto-configuration files should be already present.

      well, i deleted the custom es-systems.cfg file, reinstalled all the emulators and they now appear on the system list and games are launching well.
      Thanks a lot for the help.

      I have lost the system PC Engine CDROM that i created outside PCENGINE as a standalone system, i need to figure out how to create it again without making a custom es_systems.cfg file !

      This topic can be marked as solved !

      @donkey_on_fire said in Emulator not appearing in Retropie (ROMS added, Bios added, cfg file checked, etc):

      Pre-made. Bought off eBay already set up (minus ROMS and two emulators I'm trying to install

      They sold you retropie illegally https://retropie.org.uk/about/legal/ . You'll have to ask the seller for support as we have no idea what they have done to it.

      I'm sorted now I think. I had my emulator setup looking at a different rom folder. My understanding now is that you should use the arcade folder only for your roms and emulator.cfg file goes into /opt/retropie/configs/all .

      Mind you, I think if you just add the details...i.e.

      arcade_005 = "lr-mame2003"
      arcade_10yard = "lr-mame2010"
      arcade_1941 = "lr-fbalpha

      to the emulator.cfg files in the other folders
      e.g. /opt/retropie/configs/mastersystem

      it might work too. I will test this out. Thanks for the support

      @Spl1ff Thanks for the kind words. Admin buttons are extremely handy. As you probably noticed, I have five, which is a lot I know. One is for EXIT, two is for PAUSE, three and four are for volume control, and five is power button around the back of the case. Not everyone agrees with this, but I would never build an arcade panel without some obvious way for users to exit at minimum. Pause is a bonus, as is volume.

      @herb_fargus the issue is that sometime the runcommand does not bring up the configuration menu. It would be great if it could be launched for the selected game in emulation station from an option in the select menu.
