Raspberry Pi 3 exactly retropie 4.1
Everytime I launch Kodi it shutsdown my Pi, the same way when you choose the shutdown option by pressing start. I installed it through the optional packages and no errors came up, how can I fix this?

@Jiehfeng it's by design. This will be changed by default in Kodi 17.

What you are referring to is cec. Should be something like under settings>>input>>peripherals>>CEC and then there is an option to change it to not turn off the TV on exit

@herb_fargus Alright, I will try it now. But this isn't on exit, but when I launch Kodi. It's the same thing anyhow right? Thanks.

@Jiehfeng my mistake, I misread your question. Could possibly be related to the same thing. One way to test is to disable cec in the boot config.txt .

It turns your pi off any time you launch Kodi? I haven't heard that one before.

Please provide the information requested on the read this first page linked in my tag and bolded on the top of the page just so we can better help you narrow down your issue. Could also be a power supply thing. Also could try updating your setup script and reinstalling kodi

@herb_fargus Disabling CEC didn't work, and as well as updating the setup script and kodi (or reinstalling kodi). I even reninstalled retropie from scratch.

Pi Model or other hardware: 3
Power Supply used: PC USB Ports and iPhone wall charger
RetroPie Version Used (3.6, 3.8.1, 4.01 etc.. - do not write latest): 4.1
Built From: Installed Raspbian with Noobs, and then ran the retropie setup script
              USB Devices connected:
Controller used :Wii U Pro Controller
Error messages received: Turns off, no messages

@Jiehfeng PC USB port or an iPhone charger won't cut it. You need a 2.5A power supply

Damn. Other than getting one (waiting for one to come in the mail), is there any workaround? Do you know any kind of regular device charger that will work? A portable power bank?

@Jiehfeng there isn't really a workaround for providing the required amount of power to a pi 3. If a power bank outputs that, maybe but that isn't really a solution per se. Also if you've overclocked your pi that will also cause instability especially if you have an inadequate power supply

Are you sure its not just turning off your TV? You can disable this in the settings > Perpetuals, CTC I think its called?
