lr mame2003 wiki updates
-
@dankcushions FYI
The wiki for lr-mame2003 located here: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/lr-mame2003
needs a couple of corrections.I was messing around with updates to this core between RetroPie updates (post 3.6, but before 3.7 was released), namely, I was enjoying the newly-added (and about to be released) samples, and the MAME GUI configs for custom mapping. Anyway, I just updated binaries including lr-mame2003 and it seems that binary builds between then and now have changed the names of the directories. If you read the libretro page for mame2003 you can confirm the documentation, but play-testing will prove the following:
Samples are now expected here:
/home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/mame2003/samples
instead of here:
/home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/mame2003/sampleand MAME configs per-rom are now here:
/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-libretro/mame2003/cfg
instead of here:
/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-libretro/mame2003/configIt's easy enough to rename the folders and we are all good (those of use that were trying out these things before 3.7 need to do that), and the documentation linked above should be updated. Thanks for the hard work getting these features going!

Not to be funny but, can't anyone update the Wiki, isn't that the whole point? :P
-
sorry about this - yeah, the code changes that move folder locations to the standard MAME ones have been live for a few hours, and I haven't gotten around to updating the docs yet :)
see https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/pull/1459
and https://github.com/libretro/mame2003-libretro/pull/29 (lists the specfic dir changes)i'll update the wiki tomorrow hopefully - I will try and show how they've changed from what to what, to allow people to upgrade safely.
that said, don't update binaries unless you know what you're getting IMO!

Cool! I guess I grabbed it at just the right moment!
To @Charco's point, I don't think I could have done the update to the wiki myself, right? I expect you keep that area tight so that everyone isn't in there making changes all willy-nilly.

@caver01 as long as the changes are valid I don't care who edits things as it is a wiki intended for anyone to contribute and if they suck I'll just revert them as I get notified anytime anyone makes a change so don't worry ;)
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
