Good to know, thanks. It's a very nice addition.

@mediamogul Thank you for asking I didn't realase that this usefull feature is developed.

Can anybody tell me how the file structure of the USB device is, after creating folder retropie-mount on USB device?

        Is it?

        retropie-mount\BIOS\
        retropie-mount\ROMS\
        retropie-mount\retropiemenu\
        retropie-mount\splashscreens\

After creating the "retropie-mount" folder in the root directory, the contents of /home/pi/RetroPie/ are transferred automatically, so there's no need to set up a structure past that initial "retropie-mount" folder.

You were right and I was pretty sure you knew the score. Just covering the bases as they say in sportsball talk.

Sorry to necropost, but once you plug in the usb drive, how do you tell if it's auto mounted and transferred the file structure over? i've followed the steps but i cant seem to get mine to transfer to my flash drive. Im using a pi 3 with a 3a power supply

yes, how do you tell when it's done?
also, if it transfers the whole retropie install over, do you need the sd card anymore or should you just boot from the usb?

@sunwind it only transfers the games, not the install. you can tell when your USB drive stops flashing, if it has a light.

@dankcushions I am totally new to this. I'm using pi3 and loaded Retropie to SD card without any modifications. Basic system settings only. I want to add and load roms form USB flash and my understanding is that I need to auto-mount or manually get the system files copied to USB flash before adding roms to system folders. However, retropie-mount does not automatically copy files to the drive. Has anyone ran into this issue if the flash drive is correctly formatted?

which part doesn't work? how are you testing that it hasn't worked?
