Is it possible to run most software that runs in the pixel desktop environment from the Ports section of the Emulationstation in Retropie.

I had found a website that mentioned using run command.sh files for the port section like the desktop environment does. but I am a complete noob in regards to this.

I have coding experience from C# and java etc so feel confident in editing files etc. just need a nudge or an example to be able to grasp the concept.

I am running retropie on a Pi3 and want scratch, sonic pi and open office running from the ports section if possible among other things (scratch, sonic-pi and open office I know are completely free and therefore (hopefully) do not break any posting rules mentioning them as my examples). I have been able to install these while using the desktop environment.

There are a few things i want to be able to do to personalise my retropie build and this is the first step.

if this has been mentioned/discussed or there is a tutorial somewhere else please feel free to let me know and remove this post.

kind regards and thanks for reading
