High score in mame and FBA

Can't seem to find it ?

@rbaker thanks I've tried that but it doesn't seem to work? Do I need to activate it on each rom?
-
@Robster1727 are you using mame2003?
-
@dankcushions I'm using 1.3.6 mame 2000 0.37 beta 5.
I trying to get games like track and field etc to save high scores but can't get it to work.
-
@Robster1727 as far as i'm aware it only works in mame2003 (prev link) and fbalpha (https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/lr-fbalpha#high-scores)

@dankcushions I have my fbalpha set up in accordance with the link you posted but it isn't working for me. Once the .hi file is created, the game becomes unplayable and the sound/screen go crazy. Would you have any idea as to what is going wrong for me?
Thank you -

Thank youhi! can you try the process again but this time using this .dat file: http://www.mameworld.info/highscore/hiscoredat.zip
(you will probably have to delete the old .hi for the game in question, and then set a new score)
i guess is that the latest FBA version needs the newer hiscore.dat - if you can confirm this i will update the wiki - thanks! :)
-
@dankcushions That appeared to be a different .dat file than the ones I have seen before, but it still did not solve the issue. The game sound and screen still freak out and become unplayable on Ir-fbalpha.
-
@dankcushions Would the wrong .dat file result in corrupting the game screen/sound? Or could it be that the game.hi file is being loaded in the wrong place
