      Pi Model: 3
      RetroPie Version: 4.1
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
USB Devices connected: Wired xbox 360
      Controller used: Wired xbox 360
      Error messages received: None

Only system that gives me trouble with scraping is Genesis. I've used the built in scraper (thegamesdb.net) and sselphs on other systems with no problem. However when I try to scrape Genesis, it only returns with Mega Drive art. Returns with no art at all for a large percentage of USA releases. I thought maybe it was the rom set I had, so I acquired the latest (2016 latest) No-Intro Genesis set and ran the scraper again. No dice. Even with Sselphs. Am I missing an advanced setting or is the scraping really this bad for just Genesis?

Genesis is the megadrive in most regions. Unless there were localization differences, most scrapping will grab you megadrive art as far as I have seen.

@SireSalty i appreciate the response. I do know it was also refered to as Mega Drive in other regions, for me it was Genesis. I just find it a little odd that even if the rom name has a region name, (USA), then why won't it return a USA box art.

Example: the rom Sonic the Hedgehog (USA).md returns a Mega Drive box art.

Try using the scraper on only genesis. If you do all systems, it will do genesis scraping, then megadrive. They share a aliased directory so it might overwrite it there. I did it that way and I have the genesis art.

@SireSalty I'll try again, this will be the third time scraping these roms. I might just have to deal with Mega Drive artwork.

@celly Genesis artwork can be downloaded. See the information at the bottom of this page:
                https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Genesis-Megadrive#advanced-configuration

Once you've switched the platform to Genesis, that is the box art that will be returned.

@RumblinBuffalo are you kidding me.... Well thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll give that a spin.

EDIT: Yeah, it was what RumblinBuffalo said. Displaying correct scrapped artwork now. 👍

@celly For reference, you can manually add your own artwork if you don't like what's being scraped. The physical size can't be enormous (around 7 x 5") and a file size of around 400kb, but if you take the images from the internet and save them to your computer then you can connect to your Pi and replace them with the images you want:

                    pi/configs/all/emulationstation/downloadedimages/systems/YOURSYSTEM/image.

I think that's the right path, I'm doing it from memory! Just make sure that if you do this the image you're replacing has exactly the same name, same image extension, upper/lowercase. Drop it in the folder replacing the scraped image, restart ES (not always necessary but takes seconds) and it should appear.

@Danorak1981 yeah I've done this for pretty much all my ScummVM games but for the Genesis library.... that would take me a few months!

However when I try to scrape Genesis, it only returns with Mega Drive art.

I've heard that if you edit your es_systems.cfg and change <platform>megadrive</platform> to <platform>genesis</platform> it will scrape Genesis art instead of Megadrive. I haven't tested this so please let us know if this works.
