Emulation Station will not launch on boot

Hey guys. I just got a pi (I'm a noob). On the first launch Emulation Station starts but every time I reboot the box boots to a command prompt screen. I typed "emulationstation" and it does nothing. I attempted to change the settings to boot to desktop however it tells me to install lightdm. I did install but it still gives an error message.
Is there a specific way I can get the pi to boot straight into every time it starts so I can avoid the pi@retropie prompt menu all together?

Also how do I configure so I don't see that prompt and go directly into emulation station

@Mark_tml_fe I understand what your issue is, you still haven't posted any of the required information... Everyone's setup is different which can cause different issues. Without the requested info your problem is so vague I doubt anyone could help.
