Hi. My friend bought a Mayflash Adapter (https://www.amazon.com/Mayflash-Drive-Genesis-Controller-Adapter/dp/B00QRZ1HVS) and has the Sega Genesis Three Button controllers (A,B and C). The controllers just aren't working for him. He says that the d-pad works and there A button, but B and C do not. I've scoured the internet looking for a config file and have come up empty and watched a number of config videos and I'm just not sure what to do.

Has anyone been successful with this config and happen to have a config file handy or can point me in the right direction? Thanks all.

@eribble if it does master system controllers as well this is what it would do in that mode. See if there is a way to change modes.

Not sure I'm following, but looking at the adapter, I don't think there's a way.

@eribble other adapters i have that do multiple controller types require holding a button down for so long on boot (when the usb powers on) to switch it to that mode. Then it stays in that mode until you switch it with a different controller

@eribble also does he have another controller? Genesis controllers are notorious for the pin holes on the connector get stretched out or rust. So if the 5v pin isnt making contact the chip in the controller wont turn on which will cause this as well

He's tried two, no dice. At thing point, sounds like he should return the adapter and try something else.

@eribble buying a genesis extension cable can help. I have 3 controllers that work in a genesis but not in my adapter. But if i use the extension cable they work on my adapters.

Try a different adapter. That MayFlash didn't work on my two 3-button's, and only only a select amount of my 6-button controllers (maybe a little over half of them).
