Okay so as the title says, any time I try to open a ROM from emulation station I get black screen and then after some minutes it comes back to emulation station.

      Running Lubuntu 16.10
      MacBook 3,1 late 07 2.2 GHz core 2 duo 2gb ram
      Followed the guide here

Systems I have tried are PSX PSP SNES NES n64 GBA and Genesis not a pro so I'm not sure where to start tia

@nestorian Choose a specific system / rom for the sake of debugging - eg NES.

Make sure you launch in "verbose mode" from runcommand - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Runcommand/ and post the contents of /dev/shm/runcommand.log via a pastebin site.

@nestorian You hadn't installed runcommand ? Did you not do a "Basic Install" then? Note the log I was after was the runcommand log not the install log.

I can't advise on the PSP issue without more information. https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first (eg rom name, which emulator, runcommand log)

PS. You can't embed pastebin - you can just include the url to the pastebin post.
