Freezing at controller setup screen (Zero)
-
Hi, i'm trying to install retropie on a pi zero but i'm getting some unusual freezing.
At first boot up it asks to configure the controller (xbox 360 pad) i hold A and sometimes it gets to the button definition screen but sometimes it just freezes before.
If i manage to get to the button definition screen i can input a few buttons before the screen goes black and i get some coloured code in the shape of the retropie logo, guessing this is when it crashes as i cant press anything, i can only reset by powering off at the plug.
Anyone else encountered this and know what to do?
It's a class 6 samsung micro sd and the official rpi power supply (both from pimoroni), are these ok?
Edit: Update: I bought a class 10 sandisk card and tried again but got the same issues. I then reformatted it using sandisks own formatting software instead of windows own, reinstalled the OS and the freezing stopped (only tested for 30mins but it was crashing after 30 secs before) Hopefully this helps others with the same issues!

@Sylosis what rating is the PSU (voltage and amp). I'd also have stumped for a class 10 card as well, personally, as it'll perform better with the emulators. Have you tried formatting and re-imaging from the pi0 image on the site since you had the issue?

@markyh444 it's 5v 2a, and yes I wish I had just gone for a class 10 card (just ordered one to see if that's the problem) but I bought the card, pi and power supply as a bundle from pimoroni so I assumed it would be ok.
I've tried a fresh install, I also re downloaded the image to make sure it wasn't that, and the exact same thing is happening :/ hopefully the class 10 card will help?
Thanks for the reply btw, I appreciate it
