Pi Model: 3
RetroPie Version: 4.1
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
USB Devices connected: Wired xbox 360
Controller used: Wired xbox 360
Error messages received: NoneHey guys. Was doing some updating and something went wrong along the way while updating lr-pcsx-rearmed. I updated the retropie setup script first, then went into the main packages and updated lr-pcsx-rearmed from binary. Exited it and rebooted my pi. Went to launch a game and it kicked me back into ES. So i rebooted again, back into the setup script and updated from source, thinking that would fix it. Reboot, repeat, and after launch kicked back to ES. Rebooted and decided to just remove the emulator itself in the setup script, maybe a fresh start would fix it. Reboot. Reinstall. Reboot... kicked back to ES.
This was all tip top before i did all this. BIOs correctly named in the BIOS folder, roms in .pbp format in the correct folder... No idea where to go from here.
-
I'm at a lose here. I've tried yet again to get lr-pcsx to install and work and it hasn't. I've removed all the roms, BIOS and config files and tried to reinstall again, then transfer roms/bios back and im still gettig kicked back to ES on launch of the emulator.
-
@celly did you have it working at all? The bios SCPH1001.BIN (has to be all caps) placed in /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/
-
@edmaul69 yeah, it was working before. Correct BIOS and roms.
-
@celly i also have it in /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-pcsx-rearmed. I would try putting it there. Maybe there used to be a link to the bios in there before and it may be why i put the bios in there
-
@edmaul69 good thinking. I'll give that a shot when I get home today. Thanks!

No dice. I put a copy of the SCPH1001.BIN bios into the path you suggested and also in /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/. Transfered Mr. Driller.pbp to the roms directory, rebooted, launched the rom, black screen, back to ES. Im about to give up on this.
UPDATE: i installed pcsx-rearmed and changed the default emulator in run command and it works. The controls are wonky AF but, hey I got a game to load again. Just can't figure out why the lr version won't work.
-
@celly can you post the contents of /opt/retropie/configs/psx/emulators.cfg and retroarch.cfg as well. I wanna make sure it isnt a configuration issue.
-
@edmaul69 sure, here ya go.
lr-pcsx-rearmed = "/opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-pcsx-rearmed/libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/psx/retroarch.cfg %ROM%" default = "pcsx-rearmed" pcsx-rearmed = "pushd /opt/retropie/emulators/pcsx-rearmed; ./pcsx -cdfile %ROM%; popd"
-
@celly can you post your psx retroarch.cfg?
-
@celly also in the psx config folder there might be a be a retroarchcore.cfg
-

@edmaul69 sure, here ya go.
default = "pcsx-rearmed"
looks like you're using the non libretro version. change default to lr-pcsx via the runcommand.
-
@dankcushions whoops, forgot to change it back to lr-pcsx-rearmed when I posted, sorry. Here is the the correct contents or the emulators.cfg
lr-pcsx-rearmed = "/opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-pcsx-rearmed/libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/psx/retroarch.cfg %ROM%" default = "lr-pcsx-rearmed" pcsx-rearmed = "pushd /opt/retropie/emulators/pcsx-rearmed; ./pcsx -cdfile %ROM%; popd"
-
@edmaul69 here is the contents of the retroarch.cfg
# Settings made here will only override settings in the global retroarch.cfg if placed above the #include line input_remapping_directory = "/opt/retropie/configs/psx/" # video_smooth = "" # aspect_ratio_index = "" #include "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg"
-
@celly please put config files in a code block - http://commonmark.org/help/

I uninstalled any psx emulator I had and deleted all roms and BIOS. Tried again with lr-pcsx-rearmed, moved a rom over and BIOS file and still nothing. Anyone else have any ideas?

Sorry i didn't reply back, was out of town for work. Yeah so from ES, I can launch a rom and it goes black screen, then back to ES. Like I said before, this was all working as intended, correct BIOS, roms in .pbp format.
BIOS - located in /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS
(SCPH1001.BIN exactly)
ROMS - located in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psx
(I've used .pbp format but since this hasn't been working I've gone and tried a few .bin and .cue)Since I'm home and I have some time I'll install and config just pcsx-rearmed. I thik the problem lies in the lr core.
