Is there a list of encoders that show up as keyboards?

After hours of research, I've discovered that you cannot create single press buttons for Exit/Reset/Load/Save/etc using joystick driver-based encoders. The only way it works with joystick drivers is to use the hot key modifier button which is both unintuitive for many and also eats up a button.
So it is best to use an encoder that appears as a keyboard and sends keycodes. I've done that quite successfully with the $40 Xgaming encoder. Ignore the xarcade drivers and just use it as a key sender and map the buttons accordingly.
Are there other ones that are also registered as keyboard encoders by default? I think minipac does it but those are even more expensive. I was looking to go cheaper like Xin mo, but I think xin mo appears as a joystick.
Thoughts?

Hi!
I used this one for my first arcade controller with retropie and it works great (i play only arcade games, but i guess with other systeme, it'll work too)

And i think an Arduino Leonardo can emulate keyboard input...
