"No default emulator found for system ..."
-
Hello,
I was having a problem that is, from what I can tell, pretty standard. When I would try to play a GBA game it would look like it was trying to start the ROM and then would just immediately go back to the list. To fix this I copied the gba_bios.bin file from /home/RetroPie/BIOS/gba_bios.bin to /opt/retropie/emulators/gpsp/gba_bios.bin. The problem persisted. At this point I realized that I had not updated the system for nearly a year, so I ran sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade and tried again. I now get a screen which asks me to select a default emulator between gpsp and lr-gpsp. When I try to select either I get a chunk of terminal at the bottom which gives a few errors from the /opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh file and then says "No default emulator found for system gba" at which point I'm back to the selection screen. I get this when I select either option or if I select cancel. The only way to get back to EmulationStation is to use Ctrl+C.
That example is just for gba, but I get the same issue with all of my other consoles. I'd like to not have to reinstall the entirety of RetroPie, but I fear that may be my only solution at this point.
I can't even find this error anywhere else online, let alone a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Jason
