Yesterday I managed to set up my DragonRiseInc Generic USB Joystick after tinkering with the DragonRisInc...cfg file and everything was great. Xbox 360 controller always work from the off.

Today I've managed to mess something up as it just wouldn't work. I noticed that when I use filezilla the DragonRiseinc...cfg file was 0 bytes and when downloaded contained nothing and when I tried to reupload the .cfg file I did last night it just wont allow me to overwrite it. I've tried numerous methods 'sudo chmod' etc but nothing.

I've tried resetting emulationstation inputs through core packages and restarting but still having issues.

Now everytime I restart emulationstation I have to remap the gamepads again and again, they don;t save after rebooting. Also both my xbox 360 controller and joystick map in emulationstation and work in the menu but when starting a game, only the Xbox 360 controller works (Until I restart).

Can anyone help me to fix both the constant remapping issue and also why I can't overwrite the .cfg file?

I haven't touched the retroarch.cfg file at all.

      Thanks
