      Fairly new to this....

      Here is what I figured out troubleshooting:

      1. If I plug pi3 directly into my Panasonic TV via HDMI the sound works.
      2. When I try to run the HDMI through my Sony Receiver(STR-DH800) the sound no longer works.

      Is there a setting I'm missing to get this to work?

      I've tried:
      amixer cset numid=3 2
      hdmi_drive=2
      hdmi_force_hotplug=1
      hdmi_force_edid_audio_1
      dtparam=audio=on

        Does this mean anything to anyone?

          @perhansa post your /boot/config.txt (put it in a codeblock)
