Two player - two wireless xbox controllers - Help! Please!
-
Hi. I just set up my very first RetroPie on my Raspberry Pi 1 B+.
I have two xbox wireless controllers with the usb dongles. A dongle for each one. I have been setting them up (auto way on retropie).
Currently when I boot up, both controllers get recognized and both turn the light as player one. Both controllers control retropie, etc...
What I hope for is to be able to play two player games (nes and snes). When i launch a two player game, the first controller controls player one, the keyboard also controls player one, the second controller doesn't control anything, so the second player just sits still.
Please help. I can post code and such if needed. Thanks

not sure how two dongles work out with controller mapping but if its a 360 xbox controller your using(havent used a xbox one controller myself) you only need 1 wireless dongle and synch up both controllers to it the pi should then map them as seperate controllers
try it with only one dongle and let us know what happens use 3 360 controllers on my pi setup this way

That did the trick! i disconnected the second dongle, then paired the secont controller with the first dongle. it showed now by the led as second player. I launched a two player game and it was working! Thanks so much. Wish I would have thought of that. lol... easy fix!

no worries i figured the dongles might be 'fighting' for priority as i beleave the dongles set the controller position before then sending it to the system itself therfore 2 dongles would mean 2 controllers trying to control P1 probly a more descriptive reason for this somewhere but i guess thats what is basicly happening there glad your sorted
