Wireless NES controller?
-
@theplayerone have you tried syncing them to bluetooth? Also the mayflash adapter has an issue. You have to plug the controller in after the device boots so that might be an issue for you as well. Also an fyi, i think the right port is player 1.
-
Well, the ones I purchased don't have a bluetooth connection. Its 2.4 ghz connection. I tried plugging the mayflash adapter in after boot and nothing. I also tried plugging in the adapter before boot and then plugging in the controller after boot, and no luck there either.
-
You could be daring and rip into an original controller, cut a bunch of traces, solder some wires to said traces using a common ground and hook them to this chip https://www.adafruit.com/product/1535, add a battery, charging circuit https://www.adafruit.com/product/1944, external charging port and a power switch and BOOM! Wireless NES controller that works on Keyboard input!
-
Yeah, Capeman, I looked at this option. I don't have a lot of experience in that area so I wasn't I could afford to take that risk. Also, I wasn't sure I could find proof of it working :/.
I also wanted to see if there was a cheaper solution to that, because thats around $60 and a lot of my time hahaha. But thank you for the suggestion.

You could take this cheapo controller i just found on ebay made for the NES classic...
https://www.ebay.com/p/?iid=292004335400&lpid=82&&&ul_noapp=true&chn=psAnd attach the dongle to a raphnet wii accessory port to USB adapter...
http://www.raphnet-tech.com/products/wusbmote_adapter/index.phpIn theory that should work... right?
-
In theory, yes. Do the raphnet adapters have better history of working than the Mayflash adapters?
-
@theplayerone yes. They are far better than the mayflash adapter. Shipping can take up to a month but it is worth it. His boards are great.
-
@theplayerone Agreed! Raphnet makes some absolute quality stuff!
-
Can I plug and play? Or will I need to install drivers?
-
@theplayerone The couple of raphnet chips ive used have read as HID devices, they should just work
-
Alright, thanks for your help. I will have to try it out. I will also be starting a few more posts probably, just to look for other wireless controller option for other systems. Thank you
-
Okay, so I just received my raphnet wii to usb adapter. I am unsure if my controllers just dont work, or there is an issue with the adapter. I turned on my retropie, plugged in the adapter, plugged in the dongle and turned on the controller. Nothing. Then I unplugged everything. I turned off my retropie, plugged the adapter in, and turn it back on. Then plugged in the dongle and the controller. Still nothing. Any ideas?
-
@theplayerone you need to hook up a keyboard or your old controller so you can go into controller configuration to set up the adapter.
-
I did that, I have decided to give up on it, I am just purchasing two of the 8bitdo NES30. Thank you so much for all your help!

@theplayerone i have two of the raphnet adapters. They work great for me. Sorry you are having an issue with it.
