Just the readme and some last minute testing to do now. Then I can put this online.

@herb_fargus how do I get this added to the theme picker/gallery in retropie? Is there any specific way I need to prepare it? I was just going to upload to github for each of the 4 styles (full, nometa, simpleart, nometa-simpleart) is that the best way?

@ChoccyHobNob you need to name your repo es-theme-yourtheme and then submit a pull request like this one:

          https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/pull/1964/files

You can either have multiple themes for each style or one theme with multiple xmls that's users can manually switch out depending on how different your theme versions are.

If you read the documentation it will answer 99% of your questions: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/

Also if you want a solution to your problems read this first: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

You can have a look at the Io theme for an example of this.

@mattrixk I tried using templates to reduce the code duplication but ES didn't let me change stuff that has to be drawn after other stuff. There is some setting of values and then changing of values depending on the view.

I'm sure its possible, I'll have another go at it for the next update. This time though it's a different xml for each style.

I've got the color schemes set up like templates and the users can change those if they wish.

@herb_fargus ok that's simple, I'll do that today, there are 4 layouts and three colours, ill submit each layout as a thing and leave the colours up to the user.

I have updated versions of the Eudora themes as well. AmadhiX never merged my pull request to fix a bug in the theme so I assume they are now abandoned. If I add all the current systems to those is it ok to just make a pull request to change the repo from AmadhiX's to mine?

It's funny how that happens. As much as I love retro games, most of my enjoyment comes from getting the games to work well.

Same here! A couple months ago I spent all weekend long trying to get CrashPlan working on my 2nd RPi without any luck.

I always hate when a project ends in disappointment. Especially after investing so much time.

I was kinda wondering the same thing myself. I bet he either used a disposable email or his email was full and was getting bounce backs. He seamed like a cool guy and I doubt he broke any of the rules...except for maybe the email thing.

The facebook page admins are also happy with people announcing images there and saying "PM me for a link". So really, the rules don't mean a lot. Hardly good for the project.

Wow indeed... I hate hearing this. I understand that the illegal activity of these Facebook groups can't be avoided wholesale, but it's a shame to see a member of the community here be involved in such a prominent way. I might be marched through the village in shame here, but I have to admit that I've never been a member of Facebook. Is this sort of activity found in all corners? Surely this kind of thing is a liability for them as well, or are they now just an 800 pound gorilla that can sit anywhere?

@mediamogul: When you have a few gazillion members that will convulse and die if they don't get their fix a few hundred times a day, then you can pretty much do whatever the hell you please.

Ha! I guess so. Early on I saw the potential for obsession with Facebook and decided to stay away. Plus, everyone knows all the real action is over at AOL town square.
