dispmanx settings window won't load

Hi all! When attempting to enable dispmanx under Configuration/Tools, the screen flickers for a sec then returns to the menu - as if dispmanx weren't clicked. Seems to be the only menu item so far that does this. Do i need to enable the dispmanx menu somewhere?
