      Hi There,

sometimes it would be nice if its possible to set the system in an split screen mode.
for example. playing on the left side an adventure and showing on the right side an pdf file with some solving hints, cheats or an game handbook.

nice would be to show all the well known formats like txt, pdf, png, jpg.

      best regards,
      Swen

It's an interesting idea, especially with these newfangled wide screens nowadays ;-)
The difficulty is going to be that RetroPie does not currently use any window manager (eg X), so any type of split screen would need to be supported by the emulator sw, ie. RetroArch.

If tetris has thought me anything, it's that errors pile up and that accomplishments dissappear.

          Interesting.
But I guess there is no way seeing this in RetroPie in the near future. As @Zigurana already mentioned, RetroPie isn't supporting anything like that. Emulationstation, the emulators and RetroArch are not supporting this as well.

          System: Raspberry 3 Model B, RetroPie 4.2.1

There's an emulator called TCGdual that allows splitscreen and link cable support. Other then that, it's probably unlikely for now.

              Hello,

I am not sure about the systems architecture, but in some emulators, there are some posibilities to set the rendering engine (like open GL ...) or an picture filter (like the fancy blur-, upscaling-, scanlines- and so on filters).
Maybe it would be possible to create/extend such an kind of rendering engine /filter which renders the image a litle bit smaller and showing an document twice. But I have no idea if this is posiblewith the sw architecture. Second open point: how to controll this kind of rendering filter (keypress with opening the splitscreen mode). Maybe it would be an idea for further versions :-)

Thank you for listening my idea.

              best regards,
              Swen
