    @mitu

    Thank you again for all the help. Unfortunately I can not try advmame because my sd card got corrupted and I had to erase it. I tired to follow the tutorial I mentioned above to manually install retropie as I did before and its not working. I can't git fetch fkms_rpi4 because its telling me permission denied. Guessing something changed? So now I can't manually install it. Guess ill have to wait for the official retropie for the rpi4. I might look into buying a rpi3 instead, all I want to use it for is mame and no other emulators so I don't think I need the rpi4 for that and I can avoid this headache with the rpi3 and official retropie release.

    @Daistaar said in Netplay questions: Can two Pi's connect directly via LAN?:

    Would this allow, say full screen multi-player Mario Kart for each monitor? Would they still just see everything split?

    That would require heavy hacking on the game roms themselves, while RetroArch's Netplay just uses the unmodified roms and spans the players' monitor & controller cables through the network, figuratively speaking.

    @Solid-One That works! The Port itself doesn't seem to work very well yet, and I only have Doom Shareware as an option despite having all the WADs in place in the Doom directory. But I haven't looked at this properly yet, and the change to the location within the Script Module worked a treat. Thank you!

    Its not hard. You just have to hold R2 at the title screen, and the link word will go away. Making it possible to play split screen. Have 2 controllers setup. Hold R2 with player 1 controller at title screen. Link will disappear. I just did it.

    Alright then that confirms my suspicion about changes in RetroPie with Raspbian Stretch.

    Sounds good. I recently looked into the RetroPie Sonic robo blast Srb2 script and i was thinking that maybe sonic robo blast 2 which is based on Doom Legacy could provide some info on compiling Doom Legacy for SDL.

    As for Doom Legacy the closest thing i came to get it working was building/compiling for X11 window in Raspbian desktop and i could only get the Doom menu to work.

    It makes perfect sense to use Doom Legacy source port than ReMooD since it still is actively developed on.

    Hello,

    I am not sure about the systems architecture, but in some emulators, there are some posibilities to set the rendering engine (like open GL ...) or an picture filter (like the fancy blur-, upscaling-, scanlines- and so on filters).
    Maybe it would be possible to create/extend such an kind of rendering engine /filter which renders the image a litle bit smaller and showing an document twice. But I have no idea if this is posiblewith the sw architecture. Second open point: how to controll this kind of rendering filter (keypress with opening the splitscreen mode). Maybe it would be an idea for further versions :-)

    Thank you for listening my idea.

    best regards,
    Swen
