I am having trouble getting PSX games to save.

I have installed retropie 4.2 prebuilt from the retropie website on a pi3 b+. I am using the 8bitdo SNES30.

I am able to save SNES games using the in game save and save states.

Can anyone tell me what I am missing?

At first with the PSX I was getting no bios found so I manually copied the bios to /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS I am using bios SCPH1001.BIN. I now no longer get the no bios found message. When I try and do a save state I see the save state message come up but it stays on 0%.

I got it! Here is the link that gave me the clue https://www.reddit.com/r/RetroPie/comments/3dyki2/changing_the_location_of_savefile_directory_and/

I went into the retroarch configuration gui and set the save file and save state directories to /home/pi/RetroPie/roms

Can you explain the exact path you took to set the saves? I can't seem to find it. I will be grateful for any help you can provide.
