RetroPie on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS x86 (32-Bit) PC

Beautiful, I'm excited to have a use for this netbook finally.Thank you.
-
It's working great for SNES and NES, PSX however my netbook doesn't seem able to handle.
I was wondering how to save/load states from within a game, I have found an auto save feature, but I would prefer to manually choose to save, how can I access this?
-
Also it keeps asking for my sudo password, not with every game so do I need to change a setting in retropie or chmod the files directly?
-
@fallen00sniper This is detailed in the documentation for Ubuntu installs.
-
I've looked repeatedly and I did not see it, I find only how to install and troubleshooting for issues like connecting the PS3 controller, maybe I am looking in the wrong place.
I think I resolved it by reverting a setting to not display the game image on load.

@fallen00sniper I'm running xubuntu (17.10) and it runs just fine
I installed it through the retropie setup script
This pleases me:) is there any reason to think it may not work with unity? I've been holding off updating in case it didn't work.
-
@fruitybit it should work, though unity takes more resources, if you have the ram and cram I don't see any trouble with it.
I am limited to 2gb ram and I despise the day Ubuntu switched to unity, but I don't like mate very much or gnome 3 either lol.I've gotten SNES and NES to run fine, PSX hardly, N64 and wii is a nope at the moment.
Also,
I tried setting up in my windows machine following the video, but it is a bit outdated and retrospect crashed scanning my PS2 directory.I like the windows version, but it seems much more difficult to get working properly since it isn't unified with emulation station.
-
@fallen00sniper Thanks, I may bite the bullet!)
-
If you try to emulate PSX, make sure your bios files are named properly and lowercase, spent hours reading and searching just to find I had forgotten to do this with retroarch on windows, might even fix my netbook issue lol

@fallen00sniper I gave up all that when I found eBoots, makes live so much easier!
