so I read the link its not helping and I don't feel giving you all this information is going to help me with my stuff. I have downloaded multiple roms on my retropie and still do not see them last time I did it showed me 3 retropies is there a certain way you have to configure your system before the games show. I can do everything but play games on my retropie

Pi Model or other hardware: raspberry pi 3
              Power Supply used: not sure
              RetroPie Version Used 4.2
              Built From: retropie website
              USB Devices connected: keyboard
Controller used: wii u wireless controller and a keyboard
Error messages received: none just says configure on the main screen. controller works though everything works just cant play games and non of the roms I use seem to work or load on there
Log found in /dev/shm/runcommand.log (if relevant): not sure
Guide used: (Mention if you followed a guide): multiple youtube vidoes, the retro pie web site
File: (File with issue - with FULL path): no file just stuck on the configuration after the controller setup
              Emulator: none
Attachment of config files: not sure
How to replicate the problem: I have downloaded the files needed for the setup then once I configure the controller on the main screen it shows configure no roms work or at least the roms that I have downloaded

Problem is by your description, it's hard to diag your issue. Maybe make a YouTube video of your start up to see exactly what your seeing. Have you tried USB rom transfer?

                    Let me understand this....

you set up your controller mappings at the beginning...
it goes to the strip (is it called a carousel?)
and there you see three "retropie" selections?

are you are placing the roms into the correct folders?
(i.e. atari2600 roms are in the /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/Atari2600 folder)?

                    https://github.com/retropie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Transferring-Roms
this will tell you how to transfer roms...on the right there is a list..pick the system you want...at the top of that page shows where to put the roms

People want things easy...but then complain that life is boring...

I am putting my roms in the correct place I put the atari2600 roms in the atari2600 folder. I am using a usb to transfer my roms. Do you have to do something to your roms before you transfer them over?
