Various Questions with Cthulhu PCB, Daphne and Auto Select
-
Hello everyone, appreciate your time.
I'm new to all this and have been working on these last few issues all day yesterday and can't seem to get them solved, so hoping someone has some experience.
- The first issue I'm running into is the MC Cthulhu PCB I'm using for joystick controls. I had a bunch of them laying around and hoping someone is familiar with the issue I'm having. The unit works great when I plug it in and everything gets identified on first use and everything registers and works. The problem is if I turn on the unit or reboot of the Emulationstation or full restart, the PCB doesn't respond while left plugged in. I have to physically unplug the USB and re-plug it back in and then it's instantly fine. Is there a way to get so that works from boot up without having to unplug/plug back in? Even if it's a command I can write it to refresh USB ports or something?
Here's the board I'm talking about (Link)

Second issue I have is that while I have a couple of Emulators showing up in the list for Emulationstation, I'd like it when it boots up it goes into the Daphne Emulator and shows the list of games there by default. I don't want to have it select it, just goes there with the first game in the list to show up and I can start scrolling down. Is there a file I can edit so it auto selects that on boot up or restart?

The only other thing I'm currently running into is after I've converted my Dragon's Lair 2: Time Warp DVD to play on there, it's working fine. While the insert coins shows up and everything at the bottom fine, it's showing the direction and button presses I need to make while playing the game. I'd rather hide those like the original arcade game where it was just displaying the flashes on screen and not the actual physical direction or button I need to push. Is there a lair2.commands string I can add to hide that?
Thanks again for your time guys, I very much appreciate it!

Also I'm noticing when I die, it plays the death sequence fine, but then it also plays a second or two of another death sequence not related to what just happened and then plays the respawn animation. Any idea why it's doing that?

Well I can at least help on this issue. I've been setting up stuff myself recently and trying to figure it all out. For Dragon's Lair 2 Time Warp, as the game is booting up (and you see the screens flashing by quickly), if you hold down the Attack Button and 9, it should go to the software dip switches in the game, and you can set the DIFFICULTY from 0 to at least 1. That will turn off the hints.
I don't know much about the other problems with your Controller and getting it to start automatically in an emulator.

OK so the difficulty thing I got working fine so that now hides the arrow and action presses.
I've ditched the idea of going directly into the Daphne Emulator at bootup since I found a better theme that I don't mind it as much having the option up there before going to the game selection.
So the only two problems I'd still like to figure out is:
Why in Dragon's Lair 2: Time Warp when I die it starts to play the death scene and then a second or two of another death scene before going back to the next life.
And the Cthulhu PCB not being recognized after it's reboot. Checked other forums regarding the Cthulhu PCB and no one seems to have any info with it regarding RetroPie and why it doesn't get recognized on bootup until it's unplugged and plugged back in.
