@red2blue You didn't specify which version of RP are you using, but since the recent improvements in ES also added changes to themes, I suggest you also update the themes you have installed and try again.

Version of ES ?? Oh its there in the first line of log :| Silly of me.

Delete the theme and get it again from github. That should solve the problem.

Update, im updating "underlay kernal" as suggested in the Update all installed packages. will write back and let you know if it fixes error.

(also, emulationstation is SUPER laggy atm, and not displaying certain emulators on emulator selection screen, just a white screen for said selection)

@red2blue Updating the kernel has slight chances to fix ES. The problem comes from the theme/ES interaction.
Same problem happens also with the default (Carbon) theme ?

@mitu never updated kernal until 1 hour ago :( i went thru the packages of each 4 categories to update, original theme i used was comic book when i did that... so weird..

All fixed tho! Thank god it was something that simple.

@red2blue EmulationStation recently was updated with support for Collections - Favorites, Last played, All Games + custom collections. See https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/11321/theme-changes-attention-theme-makers-upcoming-game-collections-in-es
Any theme that didn't support this new feature will probably show errors. The list of updated themes is at https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/11477/es-themes-ready-for-favorite-all-games-recently-played-and-custom-collections

How are you getting the metadata into it, namely the videos? What scraper are you using?

@pjft i scraped all my things months ago and everything was working perfectly until i updated from 2 months worth of updates...

I used screenscraper but that shouldnt matter, like i mentioned earlier, Everything was working correctly.
