@mediamogul I've just noticed that 'Zapper' option appears on lr-fceuum (I was using nestopia previously), but selecting 'Zapper' the cursor doesn't move

Ok i solved. One of the problems what the decive. My personal mouse for some reason doesn't work.
Trying an alternative mouse it worked, after i changed mouse index to '0' (it was set on '1' ) for every user bind.

I also set 'Device type' to Zapper on 'Input -> Input User 2 Binds' and on 'Controls', while 1st user is always set on 'Gamepad'.
I guess I'm gonna use lr-nestopia for regular games (in which i set Retropad for both 2 users) and lr-fceumm for Zapper games.

Do you have any idea why the first mouse doesn't work? It regularly works when i type "cat /dev/input/mice" on terminal.

          and lr-fceumm for Zapper games.

It's for the best in a few games anyway. For example, the skeet shooting in 'Track and Field II' will only work if the Zapper is assigned to the player 2 port and I believe that's not possible in lr-nestopia.

I can't really say other than it could be somehow related to the recent changes to mouse input in RetroArch. According to @markwkidd they're continuing to refine support often.

@chuck_b my main mouse doesnt work either. My dolphinbar and alternative mouse do work. But i couldnt move left and right with second mouse. In lr-fceumm i could not find zapper option. I will try to look further into that.

If there was ever anything in need of a guide, it's light gun support for the various cores. My Dolphinbar is on loan to a friend, but after RetroArch 1.7.1 is made available, I'll have to get it back and do some testing as well.

@chuck_b can you show me or tell me exactly how to get where you change it to zapper? I cant find that option anywhere.

It should be under 'Controls' in the system quick menu that RetroArch brings up by default. Apparently the Zapper options are only available in lr-fceumm though.

lr-retropad and retropad w/analog are typical of nestopia.
lr-fceumm should have gamepad, auto and zipper options

                              @chuck_b yup. Thanks.

@mediamogul the vs lightgun games work in lr-fceumm perfect. Better than lr-nestopia

Very good to know. Looks like it'll be the go-to core for any Zapper title.

@mediamogul also on my 15” tv thats my “apple iie monitor” which is the only thing i have tested this on, in nestopia with a working mouse left and right doesnt work. With the dolphinbar, the crosshair is way to the right of my actual wiimote and moves a thousand miles an hour. With fceumm my wiimote is perfectly on target and moves at the right speed. Im happy with how it works.

But sadly in the vs duck hunt shooting the dog the gun didnt even shoot at all.

So you're saying light gun support doesn't work at all in that title?

@mediamogul no. Lightgun works great. You just cant shoot the dog.

@mediamogul maybe i am confused. In a video i watched it showed the dog jumping around. I never saw that. I assumed you could shoot him when he was laughing at you.

Did you make it to the bonus rounds? They're unique to the Vs. version. The dog leaps out of the grass along with the ducks. Shooting him is a factor that'll end the round, but it's still somewhat satisfying to see him hobble out afterwards after all the times he's laughed at you in the home version.

Edit: I believe he can also be shot in 'Barker Bill's Trick Shooting', but I don't remember the circumstances.
