Is Retropie dead?
-
@beaulieu80
The official site only tracks the new images, which are indeed quite rare.
But Retropie itself is updated every few days and is very alive as this forum proves everyday :)
People doing regular updates on their system can see it easily.
You can track the real activity of the project via github :

Updates are not automatically like in Windows. You have to update it yourself, by clicking update. It gets updated very often.

@beaulieu80 yep it's dead. I've given up, all the developers have gone home. There are no new raspberry Pi's. And also the world is ending. So I'd suggest putting a paper bag over your head or something. Will it help? Not at all. There's no point in being surprised about it, the plans have been on display for 50 years. Youβve had plenty of time to lodge any formal complaint and itβs far too late to start making a fuss about it now. ...

I bought one in an actual store on the street less then a month ago. I can't say I've had this much fun in a long time and in all honesty I think (Could be wrong) that the pi and particularly retropie are possibly the most active communities for a single board micro pc around.

@herb_fargus
Thanks for all the fish. :D -
Is this a troll? Retropie is updated so frequently and supported so well that it competes with my (far, far more expensive) NUC for emulation.

Nice Hitchhiker's guide reference!

@beldar May I ask you what a NUC is? I am just curious.
Ok, 2 days after such a provoking statement without any reposting, I think he is a troll too. And if not, it then it wasn't very friendly of him for his first post. Lets just let this thread die. (After the answer for me. :D)

It's an Intel miniPC - https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/boards-kits/nuc.html

@mitu Oh yes, I know this. I thought its something different with same name.

It looks like you've already been answered, sorry about the wait. I don't always have time to check this forum daily. I use a NUC with Windows 10 on it as it is more powerful than the Pi and also uses different architecture. The combination of both gives me access the to largest number of emulators possible. However, the Pi is my preferred choice in many cases due to its excellent support.

Oh no no no! I didn't gave enough context, the part about not reposting and provoking statement was to the thread opener, not to you!
The NUC are interesting, but cost a lot more. But I can see why you like them. ;-)
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
