USB ports no longer determine player number retroarch 1.7.1
-
@lostless so i installed the driver. If i keep it installed it shows up but asks for a 4 digit pin. If i unistall the ps3 driver, it still finds it but gives me an error when i try to connect it. I get an “org.bluez.Error.ConnectionAttemtFailed: Page Timeout”
-
@edmaul69 you have to sync from the driver itself.
-
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/pull/2400 - I created a PR with the v1.7.3 including disabling the sort.
-
@buzz how would I install the PR version of retroarch? I would love to test?
-
Just tested the latest merge with retroarch 1.7.3 with the mods, old usb port functionality is now working. Thanks
-
@lostless can you explain to a noob what are the steps to get and install this PR version?
-
@robertvb83 it’s been merged, so just update retroarch from source
-
@lostless binaries for the rpi have been updated also.
-
@buzz For Stretch also ? I just updated - binary - and RA still says it's at 1.7.1.
-
I am the same, i'm on 4.4.1, RBP3 and update retroach from binary and it still shows 1.7.1 as well.
-
@mitu Forgot to trigger the binary upload. Should be updated now.
-
@buzz Looks good now, thank you 👍
-
I was able to successfully update too, but only gripe is that it messed with my Game remap files for FBA. It changed my Strong Kick and Punch buttons. Nothing to serious but still a little annoying.
-
@redbatman The new version has a new format for the remap files - so any remapping will need to be redone. Nothing that we can do about that I'm afraid.
-
Updated to 1.7.3 now too, thank you BuZz

I figured out the remapping, but it’s a logical nightmare. No sign on which player you are changing. It’s also based off the auto config numbers on your controller, no longer the system button letters. I don’t see how it’s “better” but thats a complaint to the Libretro guys.

All my remappings … gone!? 😮 😭
Well, panta rhei.
-
@buzz Darn, well at least I can still copy and save them for games that are alike. Such as CPS2 games and Neo Geo

@BuZz
Sorry to drag up an old topic but I'm wondering if this is an issue again. I'm using retropie 4.6 with retroarch 1.8.5 and it seems to be completely ignoring usb port ordering. I'm using a usb hub (pc engine mini multi tap) and 2 different controllers (pokken controller and pc engine mini controller) and regardless of which ports I put them in the pokken is always set as player 1. I saw you had fixed it back in 1.7.3 but just wondered if that has been reverted again. -
@ruckage not that I'm aware of. Maybe it's different with USB hubs. Start a new topic with info if you're having issues please.
