      Hello,

I was editing my Metadata in Emulationstation and got tired of typing over and over again. So I tried to open the gamelist.xml for SNES and copy/paste lines of paths to marquee files. Well before I started I copied the gamelist "as-is" to my desktop. Then I noticed the gamelist was not saving. I went back to edit marquee paths the manual way in Emulationstation, but upon restart, the system said it could not save the file. Now my gamelist cannot be edited.

      Here is the file: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AluYjzvuXNufiSCFoDRCeCeEd7fF

      Any ideas?

Update: I can go in through WinSCP and save the file that way, but I can no longer edit the SNES metadata while in Emulationstation. The edit will take, but will not save on restart/shutdown.

@greenhawk84 Try resetting permissions through the Retropie Setup script

Thank you for the advice, it hasn't been easy to get help lately. I will try this later after work, but I must note that I was able to edit Sega Genesis metadata through Emulationstation and it saved normally. Not sure if that means the SNES gamelist has a problem alone.
