8bitdo N64 controller maping

I’ve been having issues mapping this controller. I’ve done a fair bit of searching, trial and error, but I’m still getting stuck. I can get every button to map just fine, except for the A and B buttons. I’ve even tried the remapping from within the core, However the names of the buttons differ greatly from what I see in screenshots and videos.
Are there any known issues with this controller given it has been taken off the 8bitdo website? Or is there any insight anyone can give me to help figure this out? Ideally I’d like it to work with emulation station and retroarch, but as long as it works with retroarch I will get by.
