How to get PSX intro to play?
-
This is a bit of a silly thing I suppose, but when I play PlayStation games, I like to have the boot logo/sound before the game starts.
I find it really takes me back and adds to the whole experience.
If I hit Select +B to reset it happens, but starting a game normally from the list skips this sequence.
Any way to get it to happen every time?
I'm sure there must be a setting somewhere,but I don't seem to be able to find it. -

@lilbud
Aw man!
What a pity. I will never forget the thrill of getting home with a new game and popping it in and that intro playing.
I always thought the PSX boot sequence was cool. The PlayStation was the first console I bought myself with my own money that I earned, so it will always be special to me.The boot sequence seemed so futuristic at the time compared with the consoles I had played before. It seemed almost breathtaking the first time I witnessed it.
The first time I used a PSX emulator was only a couple of years ago, and seeing/hearing it boot gave me a lump in my throat.
At least I can still hit the reboot combo on the controller and have it happen.

Here it is in glorious 1080p:
If you really wanted, you could probably add a runcommand hook to play this video fullscreen before any PSX game
-
How would one create such a runcommand?

I don't have my RetroPie in front of me, but I believe there's an option in the Retroarch Core Options file to enable bootup sounds in lr-pcsx-rearmed.
Edit retroarch-core-options.cfg found in /opt/retropie/configs/all/
Look for the various options that each begin pcsx_rearmed.
My recollection is that one of them is obviously the configuration that you're looking for and it's either changing true to false or vice versa or something else similarly obvious.

For those who are looking for the answer;
Go to /opt/retropie/configs/all
and edit retroarch-core-options.cfg with your text editor
look for: pcsx_rearmed_show_bios_bootlogo = "disabled"
change "disabled" to "enabled" -
@twinturbo just be aware that it messes up the compatibility of some roms if you use the boot logo. I believe you can change this in the psx retroarch core options as well.

@edmaul69 thank you for the heads up.

Just FYI Guys, If you reset the game via the controllers hotkey, It will play the PSX bios intro. So if you really want it, you load the game and reset it as soon as it loads. With out the fear of certain roms not working.
