So I used a bunch of redump PSX images from some site (zipped .bin and .cue files, sometimes several .bin-tracks per 1 cue) and threw the .zips in the /roms/psx/ folder.
However, most games consisting of more than 1 disk get "hash not found" (e.g. Alone in the Dark - The New Nightmare) error in Selph's Scraper, and if they don't then i get a double or even triple entry, despite the several disks being parts of the same game.
Next I tried unzipping the images, then putting all the files of the same game in a new common .zip file - didn't work either.
I also tried to convert them to eboot.psp with psx2psp, but that's not found either.
It's really frustrating, since I have some 140+ PSX games, and I really cannot be bothered to make entries for all these manually.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Please don't post links to ROM sites, even if the one you posted might be legally hosting them.

I'm sorry, I thought that might be relevant information about the supposed hash value of said images.

Anyway, the files I used are complete rips with one or more .bin-files and exactly one cue file per disc, which were then zipped (in the first try per disc, in the second try per game) or converted to an eboot.pbp (in the third try).

All I want to happen is for my scraper to recognize multi disc games as a single game and download the corresponding metadata.

The PS1 emulators don't understand zipfiles and I think scraper is also confused when finding more than 1 file in the .zip. Have you tried simply adding the .bin/.cue file in the folder and run the scraper ?

Yes, the result was the hash being found but the game appearing once PER DISK in my collection.
Also I believe you are wrong about the emulators not understanding zip files - I can run single disc psx games from zips just fine, they even get scraped correctly. The only problem I have is with games with more than 1 disc.

Don't zip them, convert them to PBP - then use whatever compression you want...i.e. If you aren't bothered by slightly longer loading times then use max compression.
I believe PBP is also better for multi-disk games. All my PSX games are converted to PBP, including many multi-disk.

I converted mine to PBP, but Selph's Scraper doesn't recognize their hashes. They don't even show up in my PSX game list.

                  What I did:

                  1. I unzipped all game disc zips for one multidisc game, in this case Sword Chronicles (USA), Disc 1 and 2.
                  2. Then I converted the multitrack-bins + cue to a single bin and a single cue using IsoBuster
                  3. Then I converted the resulting bins + cues to an eboot.pbp using PSX2PSP 1.42
                  4. Then I zipped the eboot.pbp again.

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. If I leave both discs alone, they are each recognized as Sword Chronicles USA and I get a double entry, but if i make a single eboot.pbp it's not recognized at all.

So basically, nobody knows why this doesn't work?
Should I be filing a bug then?

@Norstein For the PBP scraping, I think there is already an issue opened (see https://github.com/sselph/scraper/issues/90). You could try using Skyscraper, it can search by name only and I think it works with PBP files.
