@grant2258 I'm using RetroPie 4.4 on a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B (not to be confused with the 3B+).

Testing on a Pi 3B (not a B+) .. I get that same strange freezing occurring.

I also don't have any sound and the controls (Logitech F310 wired gamepad) does not work in-game. I can still press SELECT + X and get to the Retroarch GUI, so my controller is working. I just can't input any coins and start the game yet.

        I tested the M.A.C.H.3 rom.

this is so confusing and frustrating, can someone please post a clear guide on to set this up, where all the files and folders are to be place. im getting so lost on here, so far all i have managed to do is install the emulator from the experimental section - the normal version of daphne was easy to set up but this is crazy - please help me out

Aside for testing/feedback purposes, is lr-daphne (or what the the thread was originally about, hypseus) a viable alternative yet? My main interest is in the controller mapping - that's my main gripe with daphne is that if I switch controller to a different port, or change controllers, mapping is all messed up.

Would love to be able to get Badlands working on RetroPie, and Astron Belt not buggy (it will often play infinitely until you're flying across banded colour test-cards). Good luck!

Last source update the 22 November ...

                        • I don't remember, but are all the games working fine like on the original Daphne emulator ? Same accurate emulation and speed.
                        • Thanks for your install script @cyperghost :) Will it be officially added to retropie-setup ?

@darknior I didn't notice @cyperghost 's repo that adds it in. I'll try that now, thanks. I just want to play Road Blaster and Time Gal.
Update: None of my games load. Logs say nothing's wrong. Meh.

These games use SINGE engine in Daphne, we don't have it on Retroarch :(

I tried lr-daphne on my pc and figured out the directory structure to get that working. No audio and crashes too much to bother.

@Stuart2773 The wiki has a rough layout. Again, I got it working for pc and it wasn't a good experience. I'm not going to waste my time figuring out the directory structure on the pi. No audio and it crashes when I insert coins. It's not ready.

@Stuart2773 There's a thread about the directory structure in the git repo : https://github.com/libretro/daphne/issues/35

@Darksavior (and maybe @cyperghost ) lr-daphne builds correctly on my Pi, but fails with these errors on my pc running Kubuntu 64 bit 18.04.1. Any ideas how to solve that?

                                        /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lbcm_host
                                        /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lvchostif
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
Makefile:187: recipe for target 'daphne_libretro.so' failed

@darknior If this strays too much from the thread's topic, please say so and I'll open a new thread about it.

@darknior As far as I derived from https://github.com/libretro/daphne and this comment from @grant2258 in the issue #35, the directory structure should be as follows, e.g. for Dragon's Lair:

                                            ../lr-daphne
                                            |-- framefile
                                            | |-- lair.commands
                                            | |-- lair.dat
                                            | |-- lair.m2v
                                            | |-- lair.ogg
                                            | `-- lair.txt
                                            `-- roms
                                                `-- lair.zip

                                            The contents of lair.txt:

                                            .

                                            151 lair.m2v

But as bslenul said, lr-daphne exits with an segmentation fault. My steps in detail:

                                            1. Install lr-daphne with @cyperghost's script.
                                            2. Create the directory /RetroPie/roms/ports/lr-daphne.
                                            3. Put the game files in the directory structure as mentioned above.
                                            4. Create a script file /RetroPie/roms/ports/lr-daphne.sh and make it executable.
                                            5. The content of lr-daphne.sh:
                                              /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/ports/lr-daphne/daphne_libretro.so /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/lr-daphne/

                                            1. Run lr-daphne.sh:
                                            ~/RetroPie/roms/ports $ ./lr-daphne.sh
                                            ./lr-daphne.sh: line 1: 12015 Segmentation fault /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/ports/lr-daphne/daphne_libretro.so /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/lr-daphne/

For now, I'll let it rest until it will be included properly in RetroPie or someone comes up with another solution.

                                            edit: two typos
