Pi Model or other hardware: 3b+
Power Supply used: Official 2.5 retropie
RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): version 4.4
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
      USB Devices connected:
      Controller used: 2 snes controllers

Hi everyone, I am new to retropie and having issues when installing retropie-manager

I am connected to Wi-Fi, I have the latest raspsetup scripts etc but when I go into experimental packages and select retropie-manager my whole pi freezes. I dont even get to the screen where you select from source/binary. The screen just freezes showing the list of experimental packages.

Has anyone has this happen before? Is there usually a long delay between clicking on the package and the from source/binary screen? I cant seem to find where this has happened for anyone.

      Thank you

I don't get this error, the install sub-menu opens up instantly when selecting the package. Does this happen for this package only or for other packages also ?

@mitu to be honest its the only package I have tried so far. Gave it a good 4-5 tries before i just gave up and turned it off

Can it be installed via terminal or ssh or anything?

@Fergy1987 Sure, just run from the terminal

            sudo $HOME/RetroPie-Setup/retropie_packages.sh retropie-manager

and it should install. You can also see the install messages - if any - during the installation.

My first instinct was to ask you to check if you're connected to the internet, but you said you updated so I figured out you don't have this problem.
                  Glad you figured it out.
