Please help

So I just bought the Vilros Retro pie 3+ retro arcade kit off of amazon. First I installed the retropie os and then came the controller config. I did it with no issue but ive now got a problem. you see it came with controllers ,which are snes controllers. ABXY, d-pad, LR, select/start buttons are all they have . I want to play old nintendo and snes games. But some of those games utilize the select and start buttons sometimes. Now if it try to make the hotkey button unassigned, it prompts to assign one or make the select button it. You see my problem here,I dont have anymore buttons to give up. I configed a keyboard and tried to set up the esc button as the "controllers" hotkey but that didnt work. What can i do? Is there a way to not use hotkeys? I dont know...

i believe it uses emulation station
and retropie version 4.4 -
@brand0nbmw the hotkey doesn’t do anything by itself just when pressed with another button so just make select the hotkey. Unless a title makes you press select and start at the same time for a needed game function you won’t have a problem, select will still function as the select button on its own
