ZEsarUX - Keeps falling back to 3-frame frameskip
-
Hi all,
Does anyone know why ZEsarUX keeps falling back to its default 3-frame frameskip whenever I load a tape image or snapshot, or whenever I restart the emulator from ES? I've disabled the auto frameskip, I've saved the configuration file manually with the frameskip disabled, but every time I load a game - whether from ES or from within ZEsarUX itself - it keeps setting the frameskip to three frames. There's no reason for this because the emulator runs just fine without frameskip on my overclocked Pi 3 - the only time I get any real slowdown is if I overclock the virtual CPU to anything above 7 MHz (which is not entirely unexpected, but the Pi3 barely breaks a sweat when emulating a default 3.5 MHz Z80).
(For those looking to recommend Fuse - I do use Fuse for most games, but there are a few games such as Lemmings and Driller where overclocking the emulated CPU is useful, and Fuse doesn't offer this functionality)

@ChaosFox Hi!
It’s the default behaviour in rpi
See parameter
--nochangeslowparameters:
Do not change any performance parameters (frameskip, realvideo, etc) on slow machines like raspberry, etc

Ah, thank you. I've changed this over SSH for the time being through emulators.cfg as I don't have access to the device in question but I'll give it a try later and see how it performs.
Incidentally, ZEsarUX is an incredible piece of work. I hope to use it at some point to develop a game or two for the Next :)
