      Very nice!

If you are interested in making direct contacts with the RetroArch team (if you have not already) please tag me here or in the libretro discord server.

There is a libretro/RetroArch lightgun API which you or someone else might be able to write an implementation for in order to better integrate with that ecosystem.

@hermit Here's one of his previous blog posts with info on Mega Drive and SNES. In short, it is planned yet needs some fixing.

I didn't even know C64 had light gun games, though I suppose my C64 knowledge is in passing at best.

if it can be useful, here is a list of games that require a lightgun :)

@hermit Hi hermit, yes it will support the standard APIs so I'm hoping we can get all emulators working. Snes and MegaDrive (Genesis)/Master System are near certainties as there is already partial implementations. They already work on windows too.

@markwkidd Thank you, I will use the Lightgun API. That way any emulator I progress Lightgun support for will be available for everyone including PCSX-rearmed.

@hermit I must have loaded that list about 1000 times since I started this project :-)

This is awesome mate. Do you know already what price range you will be offering the lightgun when you start your kickstarter campaign?

Hi Evert, this is still to be confirmed. I'm trying to make it as affordable as possible.

@MrLightgun this is awesome! I look forward to adding one of these to my setup in the future.

Just out of curiosity, how long have you been working on this project?

@Fruitybit I'm really interested in this. I loved the Wii console for the resurgence of the lightgun genre that console provided. Yes, the PS3 had the Move, but developers didn't support it.

It is moving towards 2 years and has taken a lot of time and dedication. I'm really excited to get it released soon and get people playing.

@IanDaemon You’re right. I was so hopeful for the move controllers but having so few games really put me off Sony peripherals. Probably the only one that held any court in my household was the Harry Potter spell game. Shoot had potential, I really want a light gun!

@Fruitybit There was a "special edition" or something of House of the Dead: Overkill with extra levels, but that title definitely isn't family-friendly.

Might have been a "Director's Cut".

@IanDaemon I remember that one- but it was way too risky when the kids were so young:( may have to look it up on the ps3 again, good call.

Get on board everyone, his kickstarter campaign has started. I can’t wait to incorporate this into my full size arcade that I built.

@Evert The last time he posted a video here..he admitted there were more improvements to be made concerning input lag. He hasn't posted a vid lately to clarify any better lag concerns nor it is perfect now.

@ByteThis for me, Time Crisis and Mad Dog McCree seem to work fairly well in the latest video. I can't comment on Duck Hunt as I never played it with a gun. Certainly not Virtua Cop as the emulator itself is slow on the pi. Can't comment on Terminator as well.

If anyone can comment on those that'd be great, but for me I'm going at it.

@ByteThis it might not be perfect yet, but neither is any other option currently available. I see this as an opportunity for the community and other companies to design and implement something new. Its a different way of achieving something and it has to start somewhere. Without support, you can never expect innovation.

It might be a good opportunity to mention it : i recently added support for lightgun in fbalpha (Quick Menu > Controls then set Lightgun as device type), i'm eagerly waiting for some feedback since i don't own a lightgun.
