Hey guys! I apologize if this isn't the place, but can't find the answer anywhere. I just "redid" my arcade from AracadeOS and choose Lakka 2.2.1 that comes packaged with Mame 2003-Plus. In games such as, 1941, Mortal Kombat, etc, I want to be able to map my "Player 1" and "Player 2" buttons to let the Mame know I have one/two players to play simultaneously. The result I get now is if I put in 2 coins it assumes I'm player 2 (which some games require 2 coins), so I'd start playing as player one on player two. I would ideally like if it I put in 2 coins in coin slot one to map to player 1 and if I put in two coins in coin slot 2 it would map to player 2. Also, as it was back in the good 'ol days, if I put it in say 8 coins and two people are playing they can hit Player 1/Player 2 to give that respective player more credits. When I go into a game and go to the menu and select controls, for "select" (my player 1 button) and "start" (my player 2 button), I only get a "Start" option. I hope this makes sense and again I apologize if this isn't the correct area.

Normally Select is mapped to Coin (insert Coin) - per player, but depends on what/how many gamepads you have connected. Though not quite the right place to address Lakka questions, I think you'll get some answers for Mame2003-Plus since there are quite a few users here.
So - what type of controller(s) you have connected and how many does RetroArch sees ?

First t depends on the arcade some have two slots that just put credits other arcades put credits in per player like tmnt. By default each controller will put in a coin in by its player number.

        ie
controller1 will put a coin in coin slot 1
controller2 will put a coin in coin slot 2
controller3 will put a coin in coin slot 3
controller4 will put a coin in coin slot 4

in not really sure what behavior you are wanting here this is usually the correct way it is mapped. It sound like your controllers might be mapped right in ra if player1 is starting player 2

Thank you guys! I'm not as worried about the 1/2 player coin slots as I am in the Player 1 /Player 2 buttons. I have a full arcade with two arcade sticks each with 6 buttons. I have player 1 and player 2 buttons at the top. I understand not all, but some, arcade games had the player 1/player 2 buttons. When I play one of those games and enter coins I want to be able to hit player 2 so it knows that I have a second player and want to play simultaneously (double dragon, nba jam, etc). Right now, the only option is "COIN" and "START" that I can map to those two buttons. Ideally I would want "Player 1" and "Player 2". Right now I have them both set to "START". I also have SNES, NES, SEGA and Atari games also setup, but this isn't an issue because I can use the select button to select how many players I want to play with. This isn't an option with arcade games. What I'm getting at is in MAME there is no way to tell it to play with 2 players. None that I can see anyway. I hope this makes better sense. And again, thank you so much for your help. I'm sure it's me missing something.

the start buttons are mappe like that as well

            controller1 will start player 1
            controller2 will start player 2
            controller3 will start player 3
            controller4 will start player 4

You my friend are a genius! I set controls on player 1 to "Select" = "Start" and "Start" = Nothing and player 2 "Select" = Nothing and "Start" = "Start". Works like a champ! I wish it was a little more intuitive, but it seems to work great.

Thanks again for all your help!
