OpenBOR 3400 & 6315 game list compatibility
-
@darknior Well I think CC forum will deny this for knowen reasons. Maybe there are some pieces left on source forge - never searched for this, too.
-
@cyperghost I've make a post there if it can help : http://www.chronocrash.com/forum/index.php?topic=4132.0

A while back (I searched page by page in @darknior 's original thread - it was only a month ago) I posted a link to older builds I found on sourceforge. @cyperghost You mentioned it may only be useful for dingux. I took it as there was no use since we had newer, more capable versions.
I don't know if it would now be relevant but here is that link again:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/openbor/files/Previous Releases/
Edit
Copy and paste link - hyperlink would not work due to the space in/previous releases/

Thanks, i know this page, but there are only compiled versions. We are searching for source code to build it on PI.
-
The recent source code of OpenBoR are hosted on github (https://github.com/DCurrent/openbor)
You will find source code tagged with release number.
I built the 4153 version for the Pandora device and Double Dragon Reloaded Alternate mod.
I have to release it on the Pandora repo. Could try to build this version for the Pi ?I also built several other versions to have mods compatibility.
-
@fantomid Thx for mentioning but
@cyperghost wrote some threads above ....
I tried older builds (<4xxx) are not available from source
and I tried to compile the earliest version (4432) but failed in compiling. So I think we have to stick on 6xxx releases, maybe some older versions 5xxx will work, too. Never tried these....
So realease codes earlier then 41xx are lost :(
Never tried the 4153 build to compile but I think it will not work on Raspberry :(
4432 was no successDon't forget that PANDORA is ready setted in the makefile, not so for Raspberry ... there we need some modifications. Maybe @zanac can tell more to this ;)
-
@cyperghost, I made the builds with CMake and changed source files to customize the control-keys' name.
Don't know if the CMakeFiles.txt could be adapted to build a working version for the Pi. -
WOAW if it can be possible to have the 4153 version to play Double Dragon Reloaded Alternate on PI it will be fantastic :D

@darknior @cyperghost The fine people over at ScreenScraper.fe have added OpenBOR to their database. I suggested OpenBOR over on discord and within 48 hours it was on there! (z-machine was added as well) I have been trying to do my part and add all the meta data I can scrounge up on a per game basis. @oilusionista I want to give the mod developers the credit they deserve.
I thought you all may enjoy this. Hope all is well - hopefully we'll be seeing a new stable build soon!
-
Thanks for this work :)

nice! they look ace, can they be scraped?
does anybody else find he-man really sluggish on that latest 6xxx build? (i'm on a 3b+, no overclocking)
-
@agboju_logun Yes, they can be scraped! I use Skraper, and I had clear the cache so it would repopulate systems list. I am just finishing up the final round of missing mods to be added to the database which I will probably be submitting tomorrow night.
Also, He-man pushes OpenBOR to the limits using nearly every feature available, which is why it runs sluggish.
-
@BiZzAr721 I tried to give OpenBOR an official place to the script setup by some PR. Sadly it seems not to be integrated.
-
@BiZzAr721 thanks for the reply. i’ve not seen skraper before, will have a look into it.
-
@cyperghost I know, such a shame not to integrate it

It's really so bad ... i don't understand the Retropie Team :(
If i use your installer here : https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/19326/openbor-6xxx-openbeta-testphase/180
Can we update our OpenBOR from the last source code like any emulator from Retropie ?
Sorry for the stupid question but i break my right hand in January and stop a lot to work on computer :( -

I think it would be easily possible of the official ones from chronocrash would take part and ...
i don't understand the Retropie Team
... would support a legal "RetroPie branch". I think our moderators are aware of rising support that is needed for this and indeed I can't support it because if something will fail (hardware support or whatever) on our Raspberry we are stuck and the only one who can provide better support ( @zanac ) is missing since end of 2018. Moreover OpenBOR is totally underated between other platforms so there is less awareness - but this is only my opinion.

Yes with the scriptmodule but therefore I need to patch the files and upload them to my git. So we have a 6512-dev from Oct 2018 as latetst version on our Pie.
I will make a new patch if the 6512 is out of dev state.Sorry for the stupid question but i break my right hand in January and stop a lot to work on computer :(
Oh dear ... hope you are well. But take this is chance work on your left hand. It's not a problem to even write with the left hand. Just a bit of training ;)
And... then you can also get in touch with 8bit mashines like, Commodore, Sinclair, Amstrad because you only need direction and one button -> Flightstick joypad ;)
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
