Retropie Wifi Setup Odroid XU4

@SgtJimmyRustles in my opinion it is better not start to whitelist some dedicated "clean" 3rd party images. Simply because there is no further knowledge about the revision behind the system . Take a look about the reports of the broken frame draws in RetroPie. It just takes a lot of time to find errors and resolve them. And then add support for other images?
-
It makes sense that they wouldn't talk about it even if there's no roms, because better to not have exceptions. Then it opens up to more exceptions and such. I was curious about their thoughts on it.

The question was so simply. How to load the settings menu for Odroid XU 4 retropie with a key or command. In raspberry is very easy with the raspi-config but in Odroid? The rest about roms and whatever thing doesn’t matter the issue complicated without the need to.
-
I hate to say it, but they'll probably not answer you bud. You did break their rule there.
-
images without roms are 'better' in so far as they don't bundle illegal roms under retropie's name, inviting legal issues. they are nonetheless unsupportable. we just don't know what configuration changes have been done to these images. the only meaningful way we can support people is from a starting point of "I've got the official retropie image vX.X which I have made these/no changes to..."
as an illustration, i looked into OP's image, and it's not even using retropie as a basis; it's using the odroid retroarena script, which is also not written by or supported by us.

@dankcushions and in the rom mention how you invoke the settings menu as raspberry pi does but in Odroid?

@SgtJimmyRustles I'm going to give my personal opinion on this, don't take it as an official 'stanza'.
I feel like 3rd party images add another support hurdle on top of an already non-trivial RetroPie base install. Modifications can start as minor tune-ups or scripts added to the base install (bgm music, shutdown scripts, etc.), but can also be complex (new systems, new emulators, wrong ROMs, bad RetroArch configs, added drivers, save files changes, controller configurations changed). It's not simple to provide support and - in the long run - they would also produce confusion among users (where should I copy the ROMs ? why doesn't Start + Select exit the emulator ? why doesn't my music work ?).The forum already provides support for 3rd party add-ons or utilities - as long as they're useful and stand within the forum's rules. The RetroPie-Extra repo (sadly, now orphaned), the BGM music scripts, @cyperghost's and @meleu's script(s), the Bezel project, Skyscraper and other utilities and artwork repositories. I like this approach better since they provide a clear source of the modifications and because the authors themselves help and support it in the forums.
Unfortunately for the XU4 users, the base image that started this topic did not get the support traction needed here in the forums and now has diverged enough to be a 3rd party image (of course, without ROMs). But that's another story.

I apologize for derailing this thread into talk about 3rd party images in general. I do appreciate your responses (and everyone else's) as I wanted to get an idea of the thoughts and opinions.
And yeah @dankcushions , I know about the Odroid Retro Arena and I've spoken to some of the maintainers, they won't like the talk of pre-made images either.

Eh, sometimes the discussions take unintended turns. Btw, I don't think anyone has something agains similar projects (like Recalbox or Batocera), don't feel like it's some taboo subject to mention them :).

HA HA HA HA HA HA!
Wow, that's actually funny since I was mentioning them in another thread.
Thanks for that.

@ray3d seriously ... just a bunch of users here have a XU4 system with ORA running (me for example) but I'm away of the device now and can't give you help. So the answer is....
Maybe someone can help you, but this is a Raspberry forum and most users here use a Raspberry for emulating ;) -- Sorry pal this question is not easy to answer out of the box. Would it help if I answer please tryodroid-config
orxu4-config
without a clue - just some gueses? I think not and so you may do some google search for this ;)I hate to say it, but they'll probably not answer you bud. You did break their rule there.
No the moderators here are friendly, peaceful and open minded ... it's rather the amount of users that can really help here. Personally I dislike it to give hints without have a proof. So you for example help me really a lot in developling the RECALBOX shutdown scripts ;) Thank you I really appreciate this.
@mitu made a 100% hit in explaining about the question you asked here.

@cyperghost Thank you dormthe help. It was very useful. Thanks to your comment regarding “odroid-config“, I found that it existed but now is integrated in the Odroid utility and that you can call if works for reference to other lost soul:
lxterminal -T "ODROID Utility" -e /usr/local/bin/root-utility.sh
Thank you again. This was. ore simply without make a big Drama movie :)
