I'm waiting for the Raspberry Pi 4 to be back in stock with Cana-Kit since I went with them for my original PI 3B.

My question is simple, can the Pi 4 run the current Pi 2/3 Build of Retropi, or will there be a new build?
I am purchasing the 4gig ram to help future proof my PI for further releases.

My second question is simple, which Mame is best for a base 3B?
I've been using 2003/2004+ and there seems to be a lot of compatibility issues. I'm curious if it can easily handle newer/later releases above 2003, which have fixed some of these issues!

      Thank You!

it can't run the current image. a new one will need to be created.

your MAME question is answered here: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Arcade#step-1-choose-your-arcade-emulators

Thank you, I was originally going off this page https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/MAME when it said 2003 was the best, most reliable for Pi 3. While the rest were experimental, or didn't have the best compatibility.
