lr-mame2016 - High Score not saved on CPS1-2-3
-
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to enable the high score save on capcom games (CPS1 to 3) with lr-mame2016. I'm using this core on the x86 machine, and got hiscore saved so far on NeoGeo games for example. Any ideas ?

With lr-mame2016 too ? I'm not too sure about the state of hiscore support in lr-mame2016.
In the first place, i wouldn't recommend using lr-mame2016 for cps1-2-3, lr-fbneo should provide better emulation for those 3 systems :- it properly handle cps3's jojoba combo meter (mame got this fix in 2018 iirc).
- it has accurate sound emulation for cps1-2 (not sure mame already had it in 2016).
- the input lag should be lower, furthermore you can use readahead with lr-fbneo.

Alright ! I'll switch of so ! Would you suggest other system to run on fbneo as well ?

lr-fbneo & lr-mame2003-plus are arguably the best arcade cores available through retroarch, it's generally recommended to use one of those 2 if the game you want to play is supported, other arcade cores generally lack a 100% functional libretro implementation. Additionally, lr-fbneo has proper savestates support (it is needed for features like readahead/rewind/netplay), and benefits from regular improvements you won't see in "vintaged" mame cores.

@barbudreadmon alright, thanks for the explanation. I'll switch off most of my systems on it so.
Thanks for the replies, explanations, and time !
and keep up the good work of course ;)
