    Pi Model or other hardware: (B, B+, 2 B, 3, X86 PC etc..). Raspberry Pi 3 B+
Power Supply used: (If using a Pi) Standard
    RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest):4.5
Built From: (Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website, Berryboot, or on top of existing OS etc.. - please provide the filename of any image used) Premade SD image
USB Devices connected: Arcade Joystick/Button combos x 2
    Controller used: Arcade Joystick/Button Combos

I have a strange problem with my mapping for Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. I have an arcade 1up cabinet with mods for joystick and buttons for 2 players. I have re-mapped the buttons for the standard UMK3 configuration on my arcade box. The buttons work fine for player 1 and player 2 after I remapped and saved the core remap file. The problem is that the joystick for player 1 will register down, left and right but not up. The joystick works fine with up, down, left and right for player 2 using the exact same re-mapping that I use for player 1. When I change the up mapping for player 1 to "Joystick Down" that works fine. There is no problems that I can detect from a hardware standpoint on player 1 joystick.
I am having difficulty troubleshooting why this one direction only on player 1 does not work. Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

Does anyone have any idea why the mapping for the up motion on joystick would be different for player 1 than player 2? This problem only occurs on ultimate mortal kombat. I'm sure the joysticks are wired properly.
