GPi Case pcsx-rearmed emulator freezes
-
Hello,
I've recently got the GPi Case from Retroflag. Really enjoyed it, and then decided to play some PS1 games. I've downloaded the pcsx-rearmed emulator, set it up, and played a lil bit of Spyro. Then I wanted to play some MGS. The .bin and .cue files' names were matching, because that can be a problem too. So I launched the game and got a black screen only showing the "Booting up..." text. I tried different .bins and .cues but they didn't work. Tried to work around a little bit, but nothing. The BIOS is in the correct folder, so I am clueless. Even tried another games, but again nothing. The only game working is Spyro. Can somebody help me?Btw I have a Pi Zero running Retropie 4.5.1, and sorry if my english is bad :)

If this isn't allowed admin - please remove but there is a gpi image (with no roms) which includes a gpi streamlined psx setup.

@mitu First, thanks for the quick response :)
They are matching and I'm using the SCPH1001.bin BIOS. It's strange, because when I used the lr- version, the game ran, but it was still not that good. Maybe I should look for an .ISO or an .IMG? -
If the cd image is ok (i.e. matches the checksums on redump.org), then I don't see why another image format would be better. Did you check the file on the Pi or on your PC ? I found once that the file was not copied correctly (don't remember if it was a corrupted sdcard or not) and while the checksum was ok on the PC, on the Pi it was different.

@mitu thanks I will try it :)

Hm, come to think of it, if the CD images are loaded by the Libretro core, they should be ok.

@mitu Didn't want to break any rules!!
The premade image has stand alone emulators installed. Including the one you are after. It also has pre configured controls for it, which helped me
It does come with a theme installed (not carbon) but that is easy to change. The theme itself has been built with the gpi in mind.
By default boot up text is hidden
There are some ports pre installed too
Plus many other changes. To be honest I've always stayed away from 3rd party images, because I like tinkering, but this one is great and I can't speak highly enough of it

@mitu Just a quick update. I compared the .bin/.cue files on my pi to the database. It turned out, that half of the .bin file was corrupted so I just had to put them again on my Pi0. And now MGS runs pretty well. Thanks for the help! :)
