Hiya guys, (appologies if this is a double post)

Bit new to retropie... I'm running a Pi 4, 4gb, with retro pie under raspbian.

N64 performance is fantastic. I have a fan on the CPU and there's no overheating problems that i'm aware of. I'm able to play wipeout 64 at pretty much full speed as well as mario kart.

PSX emulation is a different matter altogether - and given the performance i've seen in some videos out there, (as well as the N64 performance), i think it might be a configuration/installation problem - just wondered if anyone had any ideas?

No matter the game - GTA2, all the wipeouts, ridge race, etc etc... I get pretty obvious slowdowns and frame skips. It makes the games just about unplayable. Anything i can do to try and work through the problem?

      Many thanks all,

      John

The RPI4 is not supported at the moment - and certainly not with that 'tutorial'.
If you want to try out the upcoming RPI4 support, then follow the instruction in this topic - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/23413/does-retropie-work-at-all-with-early-arcade-roms-on-raspberry-pi-4/9.

I had the same problem as you, to fix it I disabled the Dynamic recompiler in the quick menu settings.

It stopped the "micro stuttering" I was getting seems the PI4 can run the interpreter pretty well.
